As a direct importer and distributor of Far Infrared Saunas, we spent considerable time finding and working with an approved overseas factory to build our saunas. I think that it is prudent that consumers verify the sauna has been tested and is labeled with the electrical (CSA, ETL, UL) certification. You can also check the Intertek database to confirm that the sauna is listed as an approved unit. While there are many approved units on the market, there are many more that are not. In the event that there is a defect, most insurance providers will not cover an uncertified product. I would like to suggest that you add this to your list of things to look for when buying a sauna.

Kelly,
You're definitely right, certification is an important thing when buying an infrared sauna. I'll add this recommenation to the guide or even write a separate article about certification issues.
